Toniq, the largest and leading developer of retail and pharmacy software in New Zealand, has today announced that it has joined the global Clanwilliam Group.
Toniq has been acquired by the leading healthcare, technology and services company, joining a portfolio of best-of-breed solutions across the UK, Irish, Australian and New Zealand marketplace. This marks Clanwilliam Group’s second acquisition in Australia and New Zealand, having welcomed New South Wales-based Medical Business Systems in January.
Both Clanwilliam Group and Toniq share a common focus of delivering innovative services and software that support the work of medical professionals and improve the delivery of patient care across the globe.
Toniq software is used by over 850 pharmacies across New Zealand, helping them manage a wealth of processes from dispensary workflow, POS transactions and stock ordering to medication management in Aged Care facilities. Products include Retail, Dispensary and 1CHART.
Clive Davidson, Founder and Managing Director at Toniq said:
“After twenty years of growing organically to become the leading pharmacy software in New Zealand, I am very pleased that Toniq can retain its identity and location and commitment to all New Zealand pharmacies. The investment of Clanwilliam and its resources enables us to grow our product offering and services for the benefit of our clients, ensuring we continue to deliver the best possible solutions.
“We are expecting a business-as-usual approach for all of our customers, who will be receiving the same high quality services and products from the Toniq team they have built relationships with. However, the company will now benefit from the innovations that a larger Group can offer through better information tools and integration with new healthcare technologies. This will deliver better pharmacy, stability for Toniq and better services for patient care. “
Toniq joins a robust and established pharmacy portfolio within Clanwilliam Group, alongside other leading brands such as RxWeb, PharmaSys, Safescript and CliniScript. All businesses remain independently committed to the ongoing development of their respective flagship products while making use of the collaborations that emerge from shared knowledge and expertise.
Howard Beggs, Group CEO, Clanwilliam Group said:
“Clanwilliam Group has great heritage in pharmacy software and businesses, and we are delighted to be able to include Toniq as one of those brands. With a leading reputation and a commitment to providing exceptional service and innovative technology in the healthcare sector, Toniq was an instantly good fit.
“Clive Davidson and his team can now draw on the resources and expertise of the wider Group as the company focuses on its future. The staff are a huge part of the business’ success and will continue to drive the company forward with vision, passion and enthusiasm.”
